A Bit Behind ~ But still here!

Phewwww... I bet you think I forgot to do my next feature!  I have been so busy I have fallen behind!  Let me say all the people and shops I have encountered so far on Zibbet are just awesome! I wish I could feature everyone right away! I have never come across a selling venue that is so interested in making the sellers happy!  The administration on Zibbet is just fabulous!  If you have a shop anywhere else you should hop on over to Zibbet and open up shop there also.  It is a fairly new venue for hand made crafters and artisans,  but it is an awesome site.  The features are wonderful,  they have customizable shop fronts, coupon and gift certificate managers, copy this listing feature and so much more to make the job of the shop owner so much easier! They don't allow items made in China or from any source of mass production.  It's all hand made, vintage, or supplies. You can truly buy a hand made item from the shops on Zibbet!  As I always say....  Buy Hand Made....Give Love!

As a Zibbet shop owner of three different shops,  I have created this blog to help spread the word about Zibbet and it's wonderful people ...shop owners...and administration alike.  I have fallen a bit behind here in posting my features of these wonderful shop owners,  however with the new year I hope to be able to keep up a pace of one shop a week.  There are so many shops on Zibbet  it'll take me a long time to get to them all.  I have a page on this blog that you can go to and browse some of the shops that have linked up to this blog for a little more exposure of their shop!  Also a great way to be introduced to some of the most fabulous Zibbet shops is to purchase Z Box  a sample box of over 15 Zibbet shops.  I say samples but a lot of shop owners have sent in full size items for their samples!  A lot of shop owners also provide a coupon to use in their shops on your first purchase!  For the next 10 days in December you can purchase a Z Box and get 24 samples with more than 4 items being jewelry!  They will go back to 15 - 18 samples January 1st!  We are only offering the super stuffed sample box for December!  You can see what shops have sent in for their samples on the  Samples For this month page on this blog or on our Face Book Page in the photo album! Here:  Face Book Sample Photo Album  also   "LIKE" our page while you are there to stay up to date on giveaways and who's joining Z Box!  We also share Zibbet shops that are having sales there as well as Z Box shops of the day!  Lots of fun stuff going on there!

I would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our Z BOX promotion team and to all the Shops who have sent in samples.  Together we are making Z Box AWESOME!!  Thank YOU ALL!

Denim & Pearls

This shop owner is one busy lady! Not only does she own and manage 3 Zibbet shops,  she also writes various articles for Zibbet's blog Inspire !

A jewelry maker myself,  I love her handmade jewelry! Denim & Pearls has some of the most beautiful pieces of casual yet elegant jewelry,  perfect for everyday with jeans or for your more formal occasions!

You'll find this information in Vickie's profiles!
"My name is Vicki Schofield and I am the owner of Denim and Pearls, where I offer jewelry designs that embrace my two favorite fashion statements: denim and pearls!

I am a former high school teacher turned full time jewelry and needlework designer. I am a wife and mother and mother-in-law. My family is second only to my faith in God! I am deeply committed to all that I hold dear--my faith, my family and my creative pursuits. I love doing custom jewelry design work so please don't hesitate to inquire about the possibility of having something created that is "uniquely you!"

I am sometimes assisted by one or more of my three kitties--Lluvia, Oreo and Cali.

Lluvia, the tabby cat, is the least frequent contributor and rarely makes an appearance in the studio. Oreo, the tuxedo kitty, is quite fond of positioning herself on my design table as close as she can possibly be to me. Cali, the calico, can usually be found on my chair or on the floor
at my feet under the design table.

I LOVE beads, especially glass and crystal, freshwater and glass pearls, and white metal finishes. In addition to creating adornments for your ears, neck and wrists, I also design jewelry for your books, cell phones and keys.

I am {also} owner and designer of A Stitch and a Prayer, where I offer original counted thread needlework patterns. My designs feature Christian and family themes. I most enjoy designing band samplers based on a verse of scripture. I love color and texture and often apply stitches to fabric that are traditionally used on needlepoint canvas. Handdyed floss and beads are often components of my designs.

A Stitch and a Prayer was "born" in 2001 as a wholesale only design company. However, a few years ago I decided to offer my patterns for sale directly to retail customers by way of the Internet. I am very excited to now sell through Zibbet!
"

Vicki also participates in Z Box with all 3 of her Shops!

Vicki is a great source of inspiration and a wealth of information! She inspires many of us in the Zibbet Forums!
Please visit her Zibbet Shops and shop!

Please go visit with Vicki you won't be sorry! While you are there tell her Zibbeters: Show and Tell Blog sent you!
Thank you! Until next time have a great day!

Portable Graffiti

Portable Graffiti has an awesome business going here! Just read her feedback to see that !

She will stand on her head to help you get exactly the look you are wanting for any graphic designing she does for you!

You'll find this info on Judy's profile in her Portable Graffiti Graphics, shop......

My graphic design experience started in high school with a major in art. I won first place in an ad layout contest.

I worked in a print shop after school starting when I was 16. Stayed with the same company after graduation.

I was a paste-up artist. They don't even call it that anymore, I guess. Instead of a computer we used x-acto knives and rubber cement. Cut up all the words and pictures and glued them in place instead of a computer key for "cut and paste." Lines were created with a roll of chart pak tape. I still have a small collection of these "antique" tools. Can't make myself get rid of my t-square, triangle, waxer, burnisher and proportion wheel even though they are useless tools now.

Experience:
Lettra Graphics, Pleasantville, NY
Omni Magazine
Cuisine
American Photographer
Penthouse

ART DIRECTOR
Phase One Graphics – Peekskill, NY
Prentice Hall
Sadlier
Franklin Watts
Simon & Schuster

Assistant Marketing Director
LeCroy Corporation, Chestnut Ridge, NY

Like these buttons?
Judy does buttons also,  there are SO MANY  in her shop to choose from I had a hard time deciding which ones to put on here!  I LOVE so many of them!  You can get a really good idea of her sense of humor! Great Buttons!

That's not all Judy does either!  She also has a proofreading business and I can tell you there is a giant need for that! I see a lot of websites that could greatly benefit from this service!

Please go see Judy for your graphic designs needs, your button fetish, and your proofreading services!

AND  AS if that enough isn't to keep Judy busy, she also sells Vintage and
other crafty curiosities......

Here's where you can find her!

UmeOrigami

"UmeOrigami is your source for hand-folded origami creations.
I specialize in folded origami dolls, magnetic and regular bookmarks,
and folded jewelry in a variety of gorgeous chiyogami patterns."

When I saw this beautiful folded paper I was
intrigued to learn more.  Absolutely beautiful works of art.

They would be gorgeous in a scrapbook, on a hand ~ made card, or a grouping of them in a photo frame for your wall. She doesn't only do dolls,  she does earrings, pendants, cards, and bookmarks.  If you haven't been in this Gorgeous shop yet you definitely need to stop by.

What UmeOrigami says about her passion of folding paper:

"I folded my first origami paper crane in second grade after reading the story of Sadako and the 1,000 Paper Cranes for a class assignment. It is a story that many of us read as children, but we often forget the message that is desperately tries to tell as we get older… A story of hibakusha suffering, Sadako’s story has become one urging peace and understanding from the level of those on the ground.

I attended a program in Hiroshima (Hiroshima and Peace 2009) and the stories I heard and the people I met have had a profound effect on me. I started brainstorming how I could contribute to the project of peace. So in my spare time, I fold little cranes that I can send on each anniversary of the bombing. Origami is so simple and yet the message is so powerful. When people see a paper crane, they immediately stop and remember Sadako's story.

So since this initial project, my origami journey continued and it branched into all kinds of directions. I opened a small shop on Etsy to try and sell my origami jewelry creations.
After little success, I tried my hand at folding origami paper dolls and bookmarks. My hope is that I can continually create and bring the joy of simple p
aper folding to others around the world."

Running Garlic

This feature post is all about Debbie who runs The Running Garlic on Zibbet...Here's what Debbie has to say:

The Running Garlic is a place to share my creations inspired by my love of gardening and nature, a healthy lifestyle and most importantly a motivational source where others can find the key to unlock their own success.

A positive outlook in life will lead to overwhelming success if you channel your thoughts and actions in such a way that affirms in your mind that you are a success. Wake every morning and visualize in your mind the level of success you wish to achieve; see it, say it and throughout the day remind yourself of your success. Make yourself a list of your goals and carry this with you; these are called Affirmations and will be the stepping stone for a life full of happiness, achievement and contentment.

You can read more at my blogs RunningGarlic which is a gardening/food blog and RunningGarlicDesigns which shares creations and motivational tips for a Successful Life and Business.

Be the Success you were meant to be!

I just love her blog on gardening & food!

This blog is cool too! :

Debbie is a very generous person,  she has even created a link on her website  for fellow Zibbeters to post links to thier pages. She believes we all need to stick together and help promote each other,  and I totally agree with her.  She's hoping adding the linky page to her website will result in a snowball effect of many more Zibbet blog & website owners to do the same!  I know it got me I've already added a page to this blog and I will be adding one to my Jewelry blog also!

I Just love these cards and the idea of sending Friendship Seeds!

You can buy these cards in her Zibbet Shop:

Please show Debbie some love on facebook:

Follow her on Twitter:

Please visit Debbie's Running Garlic Shop,  for some really clever gifts for loved ones, and for yourself.

I love Garlic and all things pertaining to it,  I may just have to ask her for that Garlic Cake recipe and give that a try.  She's blogged about it on one of her blogs.....

If you run a Zibbet shop don't forget to go by and add your link to Debbie's Website:

Jilly's Stuff

Jill Wilson or better known as Jilly was the second zibbeter to follow the zibbeters blog so she is my next feature!  I see Jilly here and there in the forums here on zibbet,  and she's always so nice! She does lots of "Stuff" as she calls it,  and I found this button crocheted bracelet a very interesting idea.

She does very pretty work, and very reasonable prices!

Here's what Jilly says about herself :
I have recently retired as a custom framer at Michael's Arts and Crafts. My time there has been full of wonderful memories and stories of the art and handmade items that have been put in front of me for framing. These would inspire me to explore the vast regions of colour and creativity. The lessons learned there have been invaluable and have carried over into my own work. I can't begin to count the number of incredible treasures I have had the pleasure of working with.

My mom lived through the bombings of London in WWII and learned to, "do and make do". I inherited a lot of her ideas, tips and ideals so recycling comes easily for me. I get enthusiastic when visiting our local thrift shops because it is always "the thrill of the hunt" for me.

I now spend my time walking my beagle, buck, enjoying my family and home more, and constantly being iinspired by all I see.

I absolutely love these adorable pin cushions ! I so wish my grandmother was still alive,
she would love to own one of these!
Maybe my mom will get one for Christmas,  she has recently taken sewing up again!
Jilly's stuff doesn't stop at crocheted button bracelets and pin cushions,  she has all sorts of very
neat "Stuff"  like this......
beautiful neck cowl, it's very girly and would spruce up any
winter coat not just a ski jacket!

If you see Jilly in the forums around Zibbet,  or if you shop at her lovely shop, please tell
her you saw her here!!

Slothmuffin

Slothmuffin

This sweet lady is the next zibbeter to be featured. I ordered  Flambe the Octopus from her, because he reminded me of an Octopus I received the night  I dislocated my elbow when I was a little girl.  The candy stripers brought me a yarn Octopus, when I had to stay overnight. My daughter loves to play with it,  but it stays at my mom's house,  so when I came across the cute little guy I just had to have him for my daughter's Christmas Stocking!
I just know she will love him!

Ms. Kathleen is from Long Island and here is what she has to say about herself and her love of crocheting really cute things!

"For a long time, the most visually creative thing I did was doodle in the margins of my notebooks, but over the past few years I've fallen in love with making tangible objects. It's like magic! (Especially when you're making an animal/object with a face, then when you're done it can look back at you.) I do a little bit of a lot of things---I write, I take photographs, I make artist trading cards---but crochet is one of my favourite creative mediums so far.
I think I took the amazingness of handmade items for granted as a kid, because I was always surrounded by them---my mom is an excellent seamstress/knitter/crocheter/weaver (I'm trying to get her to set up shop on Zibbet, too...) and was always making something. The only craft she's managed to teach me successfuly so far is crocheting. She taught me the basics when I was eight or nine, and when I learned about amigurumi on the internet, I couldn't resist its cuteness and picked my hooks back up. I'm always trying to learn new things and improve my skills and combine different techniques and media to make interesting pieces."

I LOVE that she named her Shop after her two
favorite things....Sloths.....and muffins!! Too cute!

Here's where you can find her:

http://www.stumbleupon.com/stumbler/slothmuffin/

Final thoughts from Kathleen of Slothmuffin:

"Things I love (besides handmade stuff and Zibbet, which is the most amazing community to be a part of!) include: music, stories in all their forms (books, TV, movies...), my crazy little grey and white cat Baby, cooking, Halloween, wearing giant earrings, and the ocean. "
